Bonnie and Mike have been married since March 8, 2002. The met through Bonnie's mother who worked with Mike at the Louisiana School for the Deaf. After a week of nightly chats on the phone, the couple finally met face-to-face at a Baton Rouge Mardi Gras parade. The next week, they had their first date at the China Doll on the West Bank in New Orleans. Later, Bonnie invited Mike to help her chaparone at the state Latin Convention where he soon realized he wanted this woman in his life and proposed at the covention amongst hundreds of teenagers. One week later, they celebrated their marriage in front of family and friends with a ceremony at the home of her sister. They both now attend Destiny International Church.
Bonnie was born 50 years ago in Baton Rouge, LA. Fifty years....WOW, is that old?! During her half century of life, she has been a groupie for the rock group Queen (during the late 70's and 80's, AKA the "lost" years. Every great writer, after all, has "lost" years), a social worker, a legal assistant, a children's church worker, a tutor, a convenience store worker, a student, and a Latin teacher. Now she is exclusively a Latin teacher by trade. She was married once, to a native American, but he passed away. Six years later, in 2002, she met the love of her life, (and her best friend), Mike. They have been married for eight years and are parents of Spencer and Sadie (dalmatians), Quincy, Liza, and Jenny (feline friends), two birds (Jem and Scout Finch-es), and numerous fish (which have names, but it would take up too much space here). Bonnie has three younger sisters and a dear and sweet mother. She has eight nieces and nephews. Bonnie loves writing, although she really doesn't have a lot of time for it, teaching Latin (it's good to have a hobby which is also your job), being with her husband, Mike, reading, and travelling. Her favorite place in the world is Greece. She and Mike teach children's church at Destiny International, and Bonnie is also on the worship team there. She gives great glory to God for the most important thing in her life--salvation through the grace of God and hopes to hear those words that all of God's children long to hear..."Well done, my good and faithful servant."
